FAQ — The answers you're looking for.
Can I live in Italy on my American pension?+
Yes. We help retirees from the US, Canada and UK transfer their pension, register with the SSN and — if they live in a Southern municipality under 30,000 residents — apply the 7% Flat Tax on foreign income.
How does the 7% Flat Tax work?+
Article 24-ter of the Italian Tax Code provides a 7% substitute tax on foreign income for retirees who move their residence to specific municipalities in Southern Italy. It lasts 10 years. We help you check eligibility, choose the town and manage all tax filings.
Can I buy a home in Italy while living abroad?+
Absolutely. We handle property scouting, due diligence, negotiation and the notarial deed — including via digital power of attorney — so you don't have to fly over for every step.
Do I need Italian citizenship to move?+
No, it's not required. If you have Italian roots we can also support your iure sanguinis citizenship recognition, with all the benefits that come with it (EU freedom of movement, taxes, access to services).
How much does it cost to live in Southern Italy?+
The cost of living in Southern Italy is significantly lower than the North or Northern Europe. A retired couple can live well on €1,500 – €2,500 per month depending on lifestyle.
Can I get assistance in English?+
Yes. All communications, calls and documents are available in both Italian and English. You don't have to translate anything.
How long does it take to relocate?+
It depends on complexity: a standard relocation needs 3–6 months of preparation. Property purchases or citizenship recognition can take 9–12 months. We give you a clear roadmap from the first call.
